Affiliate Disclaimer

This blog ‘Airbnb Smart’ aims to help Airbnb hosts like you maximise their earning potential from Airbnb with as little effort as possible. I aim to teach you the many different tips and hacks that I’ve used to make $50k plus passive income from Airbnb.

I’m passionate about building multiple passive income streams, and one of those streams on this blog is through affiliate marketing.  I make use of affiliate opportunities to help make this blog profitable.

So let’s talk about affiliate links.

Affiliate Links

Sometimes when I recommend a product, I’ll link to the company’s website using what’s known as an affiliate or referral link. Basically, if you end up buying a product that you found via that link, I get a commission from the vendor as a small “thank you.”

Sometimes that commission is just a few dollars; sometimes it’s a little more. Sometimes it’s a one-time commission; sometimes it’s a rolling commission — so if you sign up for a monthly subscription service I might get a slice of that monthly fee.

But here’s the important thing — that referral doesn’t cost you a penny. The entire commission comes out of the vendor’s pocket not yours.

And it goes without saying that I’d never recommend a product simply because it pays a commission because that would be just gross, right?

So I only recommend products that I’ve personally used or that come highly recommended by trusted peers. (After all, if I only recommended products I’m using right now, I’d be doing you a disservice, because there are tools that are a great fit when you’re starting out, but as you grow you have different needs. Make sense?)

I put an affiliate disclaimer on any post that might have an affiliate link so it’s easy to tell. My affiliate disclaimer looks like this:

“*This post may contain affiliate links. If you click on them and purchase something, I get a small percentage of the sale.”

I think it’s a little overkill when people put “(affiliate link)” after every link on their page, and I think it takes away from the user experience, so, the safest thing to assume is that any time I link to a third-party product, I might get a small commission.

Feel free to copy this affiliate disclaimer for your own site.

Peace out.

Rowan.
